Let's Get Together For A Community Play

LET'S GET TOGETHER FOR A COMMUNITY PLAY

Christine Furney, of Upton Scudamore, writes:

What about a community play for the Warminster area, or even for the whole of West Wiltshire?

Perhaps a play written especially for us, based on fact.

Let's face it, there's a whole lot of material about, apart from 'UFOs' and the military!

Look back in history and find any number of tales on which we could base a play.

Do you have any ideas? Let's get together and discuss them.

Supposing we had a writer who could write for us and a professional director to cast and direct the play - COULD WE DO IT?

There's no shortage of talent about as regards acting, singing, musicianship, lighting, costume design.

I am sure there are lots of people with lots of creative ideas; can we not all get together as a community and create a drama, a piece of unique theatre for our own area?

What do you think?

It would be fun and an exciting and exhilarating experience for everyone, young and old, whether amateur or professional.

Are you interested in the idea?

If so, please write to me at the Warminster Arts Centre or contact me in the evenings by phone on Warminster 212807 and we can chat about it.

I can't possibly do it on my own and it would be wonderful to have your help.

Yours sincerely,

Christine Furney, c/o Warminster Arts Centre, High Street, Warminster.
