Keith R. Thompson
Author of Harvard Hospital And Its Volunteers,
The Story Of The Common Cold Research Unit.

Keith Thompson was born in Norfolk. Following his demobilisation from the Services in April 1946 he commenced work as a driver to the Medical Council in London, but soon transferred to Harvard Hospital, on the outskirts of Salisbury, Wiltshire. From 1946 to 1982 he was employed at Harvard Hospital and was ultimately involved with administration work at the hospital. He was present when the last group of volunteers left on 27 July 1989.

Keith Thompson now lives in retirement in Salisbury, not far from the site of Harvard Hospital. He is married with two sons, and lists furniture-making among his hobbies.
