The edited transcript of a tape-recording made by Danny Howell with the late Freda Barnes of Warminster. This cheerful, independent, 89 year old widow recalled her childhood at Pound Street, Warminster, domestic life in a tiny cottage, her working life as a home help first with the auctioneer David Waddington and later with the Stiles Bros. ironmongery family.
