In His Strength

IN HIS STRENGTH
Thelma Bailey

The energy with which Thelma Bailey has thrown herself into a succession of worthy causes has been truly remarkable; all the more so because Thelma is seriously disabled by a wasting muscular disease.

Her tremendous faith in the Lord has enabled her to play not only an active part in her local community in Warminster, Wiltshire, but also to pen six books of spiritual poetry, prayers and meditations. She is the Editor of the prison magazine Viewpoint and has written countless articles for magazines including Christian Woman, Handicapped Living, Nursing Mirror, and Child Education.

Thelma's autobiography, In His Strength, recalls how she set up an advice line at her local convent, the establishment of the Saint Francis House Trust, her work for the prison ministry, her becoming a member of the Third Order of the Society of St. Francis, her appearance on BBC TV's This Is The Day when it was broadcast from her home, her involvement with the registered charity Lamp Lighters, and her pilgrimages to Lourdes.
