Five Connected Lives Book Launch

FIVE CONNECTED LIVES BOOK LAUNCH

The autobiographies of five senior citizens whose paths crossed in their younger days are now printed in a new book, but when the five got together for the book's launch at Warminster Library on the evening of Monday 6th August 1990, it was the first time some of them had seen each other in a very long time.

In fact, Hilda Lacey and her husband's former employer Tom Cooper had not seen each other since 1937 - all of 53 years!

They and Ted Gillingham and his wife Olive Gillingham, and Marjorie Fudge, were the special guests of honour at a successful social evening for the launch of the book which is appropriately titled Five Connected Lives.

The event was was co-organised by the Warminster Branch of the British Heart Foundation and writer and publisher Danny Howell.

Members of the Heart Foundation and their guests were able to meet Danny, Hilda, Tom, Ted, Olive and Marjorie.

Wine was served, a raffle was held, and Danny gave a short talk about the new book before introducing the five stars of the book, who then signed copies and chatted with their audience.

Danny Howell, the publisher, kindly agreed to donate the retail proceeds from the sales of the book during the evening to heart research.

Everyone had a lovely time and the event raised £75 for British Heart Foundation funds.
