Danny Howell To Give Festival '89 Show

DANNY HOWELL TO GIVE FESTIVAL '89 SHOW

Warminster historian Danny Howell has kindly agreed to present a slide-show on the theme 'One Hundred Years Of Warminster' as part of Warminster Festival '89. His show will be at the Athenaeum on the evening of Monday 12 June 1989, commencing at 8.00 pm.

The week-long Festival starts tonight with a ball at Longleat House, featuring the Nat West Jazz Band. Other events include a high energy dance show at the Athenaeum by Zoots and Spangles; a lunchtime concert by the Bournemouth Sinfonietta Wind Ensemble; the Athenaeum Singers performing Mendelssohn's Elijah at Christ Church; and flamenco guitarist Jon Hewitt who is not only giving a concert at the Ath but will also be busking in the Three Horseshoes Mall.

Kingdown School is the venue for a senior citizens' concert; the Sports Centre are hosting a Victorian Fun Swim; the Old Bell are holding a Beer Keller evening; and the Minster Church will be decorated with a flower festival.

There will also be a craft exhibition at Dewey House; a Merrie England concert by the Warminster Choral Society at Christ Church Hall; a speed pool competition at the Rose And Crown; a Folk Day at Warminster Library; the Town Band and the Regal Majorettes will be providing entertainment in the Park; and there's also an open evening at Warminster Fire Station.
